Travel to Sanderson, TX

Planes, Trains and Automobiles - not in that order as I left Louisville, KY for the pre-ride which starts in Sanderson, TX...out west...not quite to El Paso but getting there!

From Louisville, Southwest Airlines to San Antonio with an Uber over to the Amtrak Station, next to the Alamodome. There I boarded the Amtrak Texas Eagle for a 6-hour ride out to Sanderson. The upgrade to a small sleeper room was worth it and included a sunrise breakfast in the Dining Car.

I arrived in Sanderson, about 9:00 in the morning and began work reassembling the bike, which had been shipped out to the Desert Air Motel. People here have been very friendly and accommodating on my logistics, including holding the bike for me in advance of my arrival.

After dinner at a local cafe' I am going to get ready for the 1st day of riding tomorrow...90 miles via US 90 along the Rio Grande, to Comstock, Tx. Packing plenty of food and water as there aren't many options between here and there!
